Who is Eligible INSPIRE-SHE?
To be eligible for the INSPIRE-SHE scholarship, you must meet one of the following criteria:
(a) Top 1% in Class XII Examination: Meritorious students who have achieved an aggregate score within the top 1% in their Class XII examination in 2023 from any State/Central Board in India can apply. Additionally, you must be pursuing courses in Natural and Basic Sciences at the B.Sc., B.S., and Int. M.Sc./M.S. level.
(b) Competitive Exam Rank: If you have secured a rank within the top 10,000 in competitive exams like JEE (Main)/JEE (Advanced), NEET (AIPMT), NTSE, JBNSTS, or are an International Olympiad medalist, and are currently pursuing Natural and Basic Science courses at the B.Sc., B.S., Int. M.Sc./M.S. level, you are eligible.
(c) NTSE, JBNSTS, or Olympiad Scholars: NTSE scholars, Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars, and International Olympiad medalists who are pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s level courses in Natural and Basic Sciences can also apply.
Please note that students who passed the Class XII examination in previous years are not eligible for this scholarship.
INSPIRE-SHE Scholarship Benefits
Under the INSPIRE-SHE component, selected candidates will receive a monthly scholarship of ₹5,000/- (₹60,000 per annum) along with a mentorship grant of ₹20,000/- per annum.
How to Apply for INSPIRE-SHE 2023
Interested and eligible candidates must apply through the online mode only. Here are the steps to apply:
- Visit the INSPIRE web-portal at https://www.online-inspire.gov.in.
- Register on the portal and submit your application online. Ensure you read the guidelines available on the portal carefully before submission.
- The application portal will be open from 10th September 2023 to 09th November 2023 (till 23:59 hrs. IST) for submission.

Documents Required for INSPIRE-SHE
Before filling out the application form, make sure to scan and store the following documents as separate files, which need to be uploaded during the online application process:
- Passport size photograph (JPEG, maximum 50 KB).
- Class X Mark Sheet or Certificate (PDF, 1 MB) for proof of Date of Birth.
- Class XII Mark Sheet (PDF, 1 MB).
- Endorsement Form signed by the Principal of College/Director of Institute/Registrar of University (PDF, 1 MB).
- Eligibility Note/Advisory Note (if provided by the State/Central Board, PDF, 1 MB).
- Certificate specifying Rank or Award in IIT-JEE/AIPMT/NEET/JBNSTS/NTSE/International Olympic Medalists (if applicable, PDF, 1 MB).
- Community/Caste Certificate (if applicable, PDF, 1 MB).
- Any other supporting documents (PDF, 1 MB).

Scope of INSPIRE Scholarship
The INSPIRE Scholarship for pursuing B.Sc./B.S./Int. M.Sc./Int. M.S. courses covers a wide range of Basic and Natural Sciences subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and many more. Check Annexure-1 for the full list of eligible subjects.

Instructions for Filling Online Application for INSPIRE-SHE
- Applications must be submitted through online mode only.
- The online application submission process will begin on 10th September 2023 and will be available until 09th November 2023 (till 23:59 hrs. IST).
- Visit https://www.online-inspire.gov.in for the online application process.
- Applicants are advised to take a printout of the submitted online application for their records. Do not send applications or documents by post.
- Ensure your application is complete and all essential documents are attached.
- Use your valid and functional email address for application submission.
- Do not submit multiple applications. Verify all details before submission.
