TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship Programme Stipend and Accommodation
As a selected fellow, you will receive a monthly stipend to cover living costs and food. Please note that the stipend cannot be converted into foreign currency. Additionally, free on-campus accommodation will be provided during your stay.

While the S.N. Bose National Centre does not provide comprehensive health or medical insurance, it is mandatory for all TWAS-SN Bose fellows to have their own “Medical Insurance” to cover any medical emergencies that may arise during their time in the programme.

TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship Programme Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the TWAS-SN Bose Postgraduate Fellowship Programme, you must meet the following criteria:
- Maximum age of 35 years on 31 December of the application year.
- National of a developing country (excluding India).
- Must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent residency in India or any developed country.
- Hold a Master’s degree in physics, mathematics, or chemistry, with a minimum of 5 years of undergraduate and postgraduate studies in a recognized university or institute.
- Be accepted by a department of the S.N. Bose National Centre. We recommend visiting the Centre’s website to identify a potential supervisor and research area that aligns with your interests.
- Provide evidence of proficiency in English if your medium of education was not English.
- Commit to returning to your home country upon completion of the fellowship.
- Avoid taking up any other assignments during the fellowship period.
- Assume financial responsibility for any accompanying family members.
