The Department of Computer Science at Tufts University’s School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time teaching faculty position as Teaching Professor, Lecturer, or Professor of the Practice (open rank). The role is non-tenure-track, but full-time with benefits and the potential for renewal after an initial two-year appointment. The position will start in Spring or Fall 2025, and the primary focus will be teaching and curriculum development for the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs.

Tufts University’s Department of Computer Science is particularly interested in candidates with strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), though we welcome exceptional candidates from all areas of computer science.

Who Should Apply?

Candidates with a passion for teaching and a strong commitment to mentoring students are highly encouraged to apply. Prior teaching experience—especially with undergraduates—is preferred. For those interested in teaching in online programs, candidates can work fully remotely but should reside in the U.S. and be willing to travel to campus occasionally for meetings. The department is flexible and will cover travel expenses for required campus visits.
